Back in Lucknow

Hi guys
The second year at IIM Lucknow started.
To say that only “second year started” is an understatement. Many things have started and many things have come to an end. But suffice to say that after 10 months, I won’t b allowed to stay here. Will b kicked off unceremoniously! With a diploma in hand !

It is this thought which made me wonder . What do I do Now? Enjoy remaining holidays i.e. 10 months n work later
Or
Work these 10 months looking for a way to avoid work for the rest of life?
The first one seems quite an attractive option. Who knows, even after leaving the place, I may not have to work.
But the second one ain’t that bad. I know. There r questions like, “can we live w/o work” or “can I find it in 10 months”. Heck, lemme try it. Any how I’m not gonna spend all my time looking for it.
What say?

Begining of the end

Here comes Monday… Another workweek starts. It’s the beginning of an end. My summer project will be over this week.
I was wondering wat to do. Coming to doing…., I guess Alexander Dumas asked the right question ages ago.

Though I have a list of things to do, none of them deserves being called “anything”. But still, I cant let down my ego so easily…lemme plan this week. Lemme plan a week to do “nothing”

Where: Guest house, Living Room
When: Irrelevant…

Psycho was exercising in the living room. Its funny. It involves kicking air, trapping the air and crushing it between joints, fondling invisible shapes, communicating with ghosts through various head postures etc.
Eagle was walking towards bedroom.

Psycho: ….. I need to share an insight with you. I need your opinion on this!
Eagle: ?? (Shit, Not again…)
Psycho: (Comes close to eagle) This deals with a deeper insight. I think the world needs a better way of living. This sadhus and Gurus are spoiling the world.

Eagle: (Ok, it’s a known topic…)
Psycho: They r all base n greedy….Jus like uneducated counselors.

Eagle: (So? )……..Walks towards d sofa n settles down
Psycho: (People have problems. They need spiritual counselors. But this generation wont accept spirit and all with out logic. U know, they are exposed to science, reasoning etcetra , all thses things …U know? We should give them spiritual counseling in a scientific manner. …..In fact, I was thinking of training the gurus so that they can give better counseling….

Eagle: Not a bad idea…(If ppl r rational, y they go to all these gurus in thousands??)
Psycho: (Moves into the chair near by)Yes! Yes! I know u will appreciate it. But the problem is…..in India ppl respect only grey hair….isn’t it…..I don’t know how to convince them….(Psycho has no grey hair…Actually no hair….)

Eagle: What about west?
Psycho: Haaan, That also I thought… But there is a bigger problem. They respect only branded gurus..
Eagle: Hmmm!! May be you can take branded or grey gurus, do the brain wash and then use them for training others…
Psycho: But I want to start some thing very different. Very new. Pchhh, these gurus are not suitable for it.
Eagle: ???(Whats that?)

Psycho: Here I need ur help. I want to start something new……Something different..But I donno what it has to be.
Eagle: (Holy shit……….) U wanna help ppl or do something new?
Psycho: Excellent! You understood it clearly (A big smile on his face!).I want to help people. But, old solutions have been there for a while, still there are problems….so all old solutions must be wrong…isn’t it? I know ppl need a new solution.

Eagle: I have a different opinion…
Psycho: ?? (smile vanishes.) Yes, Please share it..(There’s apprehension in the voice)

Eagle: I think the solution remains same…its only the form which changes… Budha, did not preach immediately after knowing the solution..He thought a lot n after discovering a suitable form he started. Krishna also, knew arjuna for so long.. But he recited gita only in kurukshetra (Man! I hate this talk…)
Psycho: Excellent. U r right. Yes. Even, Krishna murthy did the same… But why is it so…Of course I am asking a deeper level question

Eagle: (Deep?) hmmm, Coz u can never teach any thing new to ppl. U can only help people realize wat they already know.
Psycho: (unnamed expression..)Excellent! U are sharing a deeeeeeeeeeep insight. I also feel so….But what shall I do now?

Eagle: It’s a good question.. Have u ever read a guru searching for a desciple?
Psycho: Haha! Never (laughing uncomfortably) .

Eagle: Same here. The world has a way of figuring out solutions. I thnk u shud do nothing….
Psycho: (Is he angry?Upset??) Thank you very much! I think u should share this insight with everybody
Eagle: Sure…

When: Time for evening drinks while enjoying the night sky.

Psychologist: Psycho also called Doc. Ex director of XYZ Psychology institute in delhi . He is thinking about creating a new way of life by synthesizing Budhism and J.Krishnamurthy’s outlook. Sane people avoid him, as he is known to kill common sense in brutal manner.

Psycho was leaning comfortably in the sofa n watching a show on channel V
Eagle settles down in the near by sofa after a nice bath..
Wondering wat to do next.

Psycho: ……., I want to share one deeper insight with you.I am seriously concerned about it...
Eagle: (Go on) ......(Looks at Psycho)
Psycho: It bothers me that the whole world is becoming a body shop...People are trapped ..evry body is after flesh. Evry thing u see is becoming a skin show …also, those who show more skin get paid more.
Eagle: So?

Psycho: But u see, a girl make crores of rupees like this and another girl with same complexion n body is paid very little….She is exploited.. Its un fair isn’t it

Eagle: Hmmm, So u r bothered about the exploitation.

Psycho: No, thats only one thing.. U see, I do accept the Greek-roman affinity for aesthatic beauty but it should not be salebale good na? How can you justify people making money just based on beauty? Its not correct na ?

(Psycho, who is the most intelligent person on earth is pissed off with the girl on the TV. She seems to be too rich…And the way shez jumping around, its evident that she is ecstatic.)
Eagle: Hmmm, I have a different opinion to share.
Psycho: Yes, tell me. (A flash on his face.. at last, the conversation starts..)

Eagle: We go to another world where beauty is the basis of earning. Intellect is only to be appreciated. People are not allowed to engage in intellectual intercourse in public. Obviously, only people from opposite sex can engage in such intercourses. Knowledge is “make up” and experience is like folds of old age….
Now if u start making money by showing of ur intellect, (Lecturing)…Is it similar to skin show in our world?

Psycho: Yes….But ..(Very ill at ease, sitting up right in the sofa as if to defend himself from the expected blow………)
Eagle: Hmm. What if some body sells his knowledge or intellect like a professor? Is it not akin to …..
What if it is done on hourly basis………like consultants, visiting professors do? Call girls n boys???

Psycho: But this community helps the world….(Almost screaming…he looks horrified)

Eagle: Hmmm. Slowly, people start watching this public and shameless show of intellect through every media…evry body fixated with intellect n brains…….
And some intellects start making more money than others…….all unfair practices…..
Doc.Tell me how this community helps the world?

Psycho: ……(??????) U have given a nice perspective… I also thought so…..
I am feeling sleepy…(Getting up from sofa to move….)
Eagle: Btw, in that world, what we have done till now is not at all a respectable thing….
Whats ur opinion on intellectual masturbation??
Psycho: (Visibly suffering….) Ok ….., Good night.

Unadulterated admiration

I admire Its purity: Unclouded by conscience,remorse, or delusions of morality. Its structural purity is matched only by its hostility towards all that is not what it is..............

Doubt and Reality

How many times we think "I should have done like that"? Or the otherway?

Its not often that we do things and feel certain about the outcome immediately.
The nagging doubt, some where in dark corners of mind keeps troubling you till the outcome is observed and confirmed for...Till the reality walks in and kills the doubt with the dual sword.. Confirmation or contradiction..

But what if reality cant wait for long? What if it doesnt want doubt to play with you? What if keeps confirming your actions to be right or wrong the moment you carry them out? Surly it must be great! There is no more "DOUBT". You will not have to carry the burden of uncertainity any more! Aaha!!! A doubt free world ! That must be heaven!

But wait! Here comes doubt! I can see a suppressed smile on its face! I can understand what it wants to say!

What if reality is not so benevolent afterall? What if keeps waiting in the shadow of time? Just as you do some thing, what if it walks with a cruel smile and says that you are wrong? That you cant do anything about it? That you got it all wrong?
What if it kills your confidence by repeatedly smashing against the stones of failure? Tramples on your belief system mercilessly with the feet of inconsistency? Tosses your mind in to the endless tides of uncertainity? All this while watching your plight with pleasure?
Will you still welcome it with wide open hands, eager to embrace every moment for rest of your life? Or try to run away so that it cant even reach your thought? Live in the world of dreams where only hope and doubt are your companions?
